Tucked in the middle of Eastern Ghats
Vizag has its own charm of its kind, courtesy The Bay Of
Bengal On Eastern side and Eastern Ghats on West Side
Location (17' 15 and 18' 20 N latitude and 18' 54 and
30' 30 E longitude)
Area 11,161 Sq. Kms
Vizag appears like a basin, as it is bounded by Kailasa,
Yarada and Narava hill ranges on north, south and west,
respectively and east by Bay of Bengal. It has an
undulating topography with a height of 4 to 50 m above MSL (excluding hills). Located on the shores of the Bay
of Bengal, Visakhapatnam is surrounded by Eastern Ghat
Range on 3 Sides the Home to many aboriginal tribes of
india and location of Visakhapatnam has an exclusive
charm of typical coastal climate mixed by the avid
serenity of the Whispering Valleys
Climate:
The district is witness to varied climatic conditions.
The coastal regions are pleasantly humid and
comfortable, further inland the air gets warmer while in
the hill areas it is noticeably cooler on account of
elevation and vegetation.

Rainfall:
Annual rainfall is 1082.5 mm. The rainy season is from
July to September.
Flora And Fauna
Vizag have preserved its natural state unique natural
nooks, and remarkable bio-diversity. Contemporary
natural vegetation demonstrates considerable ecological
diversity.
12,360 species have been found in its composition, of
which 3,700 are higher plants. The Bulgarian endemic
plants, which are to be found nowhere else in the world,
number more than 250: Rila primrose, Balkan violet,
Bulgarian blackberry, Rhodopean tulip etc. Forests
abound with wild fruits, briars, blueberries,
blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, mushrooms – all
of them of proven flavor and of qualities that
strengthen the body. There is also a great diversity of
herbs and healing plants
